BUILDING GREEN ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2016

ENGAGE. LEARN. COMPEL.  Sustaining the Philippines' Green Building Agenda.

The Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC), an Established Member of the World Green Building Council (WGBC) will be staging its 10th annual green building event, BG2016 on September 23, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

This event will be held as part of the celebration of the World Green Building Week led by the WGBC together with the 75 national green building councils around the world on September 26 – October 2, 2016.

This year, the World Green Building Week theme is "Change Your Perspective". It aims to inform people and spread awareness about the interesting and most often untold facts about buildings, especially green buildings, that, when read or heard of, will change how people think. Making people aware of these facts will help them understand the role of green buildings in creating positive impact and huge benefits to global emissions, energy, water, health and well-being, the economy, and beyond. BG2016 carries the same theme.

By bringing together fellow green builders from the academe, civil society, government, business, professionals, and other stakeholders of the building and construction industry to discuss and learn about sustainability initiatives from public and private sector experts, the Philippine Green Building Council hopes to tackle government actions concerning: climate change and its effect on the country’s environmental future, promotion of green building to more developers, the impact of technology to the real estate industry, and efforts to provide education on sustainability. Through presentations and panel discussions, the BG2016 will also feature global, regional, and local issues, breakthroughs, practices, and technologies for more sustainable buildings.

After 10 successful years, BG2016 is set to change people’s perspective about green buildings, build trust within the industry, and transform our cities.
